Andrew Glover is a Field Claim Supervisor for a national insurance carrier that insures “specialty lines” customers (the risks no one else wants). He oversees a staff of adjusters who handle claims in three states. Except for a one year hiatus, he has been in the industry since 1990; before that, he was a reporter and editor for a small newspaper and has worked as a writing tutor. He earned his BA in English with an Emphasis in Writing from Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY in 1987.

Having seen tens of thousands of auto, commercial and homeowners' claims, he has a broad understanding of insurance and what consumers face when making a claim. He has also worked as an underwriter and knows much of what goes on “behind the lines” at insurance companies. He writes in the hope that his knowledge will help readers become better buyers and users of insurance - and get the best settlement possible if they have a claim!

When he’s not working claims, he is spending time with his wife and four kids or running, backpacking, working on the house and reading about a wide variety of topics. He lives in Pennsylvania.
